Recently, its become the latest rage for parents to throw Baby Gender Reveal Parties instead of or mixed in with a traditional baby shower. I’ll admit I saw the idea on Pinterest and instantly fell in love with it. What better way to share the excitement with family and friends than by throwing a whole party around finding out the sex of the baby? I’ve been planning mine for a few months with the help of my ultra-crafty mom. I got caught up in the fascination with the Royal Couple, Kate Middleton and Prince William having their baby was so beautiful and it’s real life, which makes it even more amazing! In part, that’s why I chose to have a Princess or Prince theme with a British tea party flair to it. It was a huge success and I’m so happy we pulled it off.
There was a lot of attention to detail. Many things were crafted using a Cricut Expression, like the cupcake wrappers and toppers, the banner, words for signs. The cardboard castles holding the cupcakes were purchased on sale from Zulily.com. We served sugar cookies decorated like crowns, homemade naked berry cake, 3 different kinds of tea sandwiches, homemade rhubarb cupcakes, assorted snacks for the kids, fruit cups and several different drinks too. The kids received wands/scepters, swords and crowns.
It was so much fun and it was so special.
